CHAA (formerly APPS) is a leading community-driven provider of behavioral health, youth development, and family support services to the historically under served Asian/Pacific Islander community of the Bay Area. Strengthened by a diverse professional staff with roots in the API community, CHAA understands families from various API cultures, and offers its services on a personal level, focusing on treatment in and beyond the clinical environment.Â
CHAA offers linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive behavioral health care to API children, youth, and their families using a holistic, wellness model. Our individual and group programs and services are based in schools, the community, and at our four clinics in Oakland, Richmond, Antioch and Fremont, CA.  We provide a continuum of care ranging from youth development (to develop skills, self-esteem, and strengths) and prevention (to decrease the incidence of issues requiring higher levels of care), to intervention (to reduce the severity of the problem) and treatment (rehabilitation).  When and where appropriate, we will partner with community-based organizations and groups to increase access and coordination of wraparound services in the API community. We also provide our expertise and knowledge of the communities we serve through trainings, presentations, information exchanges and advocacy for both individuals navigating the system, and for communities in relation to policy and decision-making by public systems.Â
