CHAA is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Antioch, CA, located at 3727 Sunset Lane, Suite 110. CHAA will move it's "Families Forward" team from the current program office in Brentwood, CA, in June 2009 to the new Antioch site.
In 2007, CHAA (then, APPS) began programming in Far East Contra Costa County in collaboration with Familias Unidas and Contra Costa County Mental Health Division. This program, called "Families Forward," is funded through the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) (Proposition 63), passed by California voters in November 2004. The MHSA is intended to "transform the public mental health system" by creating a state-of-the-art, culturally competent system that promotes resiliency for children with serious emotional disorders and their families. The program covers the cities of Brentwood, Oakley, Discovery Bay, Bethel Island, and Byron, and has since been expanded to include services in Antioch, CA.
CHAA's team provides Wraparound, case management and limited direct mental health services for children ages 0-18 and their families living in Far East Contra Costa County who are unserved or underserved and who have severe mental health issues. Programming is provided in the community and at the program's Brentwood and, now, Antioch, office sites by multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural Integrated Services Team, including personal services coordinators, family support counselors, bi-lingual family partners, a co-occurring mental health/alcohol and other drugs services specialist, and peer mentors. CHAA's team can provide services in several AAPI languages, including Vietnamese, Tagalog, Kapampangan, Mien, Lao, Khmu, Thai and English.
