We are thankful for your interest in helping to advance the mission of CHAA. Your contribution provides support to Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

CHAA (formerly APPS) is the leading community-driven provider of behavioral health, youth development, and family support services to the historically underserved Asian/Pacific Islander community of the Bay Area. Strengthened by a diverse professional staff with roots in the API community, CHAA understands families from various API cultures, and offers its services on a personal level, focusing on treatment in and beyond the clinical environment. CHAA provides services to local schools, youth, and families.

The CHAA Internship Program is open to graduate program students preparing to become social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists. CHAA-Oakland offers 10-12 months full-time internships and part-time practicum training. The training program emphasizes a community-driven approach to behavioral health, youth development, family support and advocacy services to the historically underserved Asian/Pacific Islander community in the Greater Bay Area. Opportunities, in the areas of child, adult, and family counseling; case management; and group rehabilitation, takes place in Oakland Unified School sites, family homes, as well as a traditional outpatient setting.
