Two years ago, African American women from Allen Temple Baptist Church and Vietnamese nail salon workers met at the crossroads of the nail salon to talk about their histories and experiences living in East Oakland. Their conversations were documented in a short film in hopes of bridging cultural understanding between clients and workers within the nail salon industry.
We invite you to CHAA's film premiere that will be followed by a community dialogue at Allen Temple Church, Room D216, Mary Morris Room, 8501 International Blvd., Oakland, 94621
Additional presentations include:
– PG&E for low-income residents
– Oakland's New Comer Welcome Center!
